2025: The Future of HVAC

2025 is finally here!

With the new year comes new products, savings, innovations; so what does this mean for the future of heating and cooling? The future of HVAC is a focus on reducing environmental impact and improving energy efficency. Starting January 1st of 2025, the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) will begin phasing out old refrigerents like the R410-A and will be leaning more towards newer, cleaner models like the R-32. R-32 is shown to reduce carbon emissions by 13%. Similarly, R-454B will become more implemented, also reducing emissions by approximately 13%. You can also benefit from Federal Tax Credits when switching to more energy efficient products through incentives put into place by EPA, you may be able to qualify to up to $2,000 worth of tax credit.

Due to the focus on energy efficiency, it is also predicted that we will see a rise in heat pumps. Government incentives are also focused on the switch to the more efficient heat pumps. The High-Efficency Electric Home Rebate Act is set to to be put in place early 2025, which will offer low and middle class households up to $8,000 of credit per pump.
